The
Tools - a utility knife (use a strong one so that the
blade doesn't wander), a cutting board, a thin ruler
(if your cutting edge is to thick, then you can't get
deep enough with the blade).
Make
sure that the knife is sharp. This may require you to
replace the blade.
For
a straight cut, position the ruler where you want the
cut to be.
Begin
cutting with the blade of the knife at about a 45 degree
angle. If you cut with your angle too high, it will
start to bunch up.
Keep
the knife on the same angle right through until you
are finished your cut.
You
can cut as small as 1/16" off your foamboard using
this technique.
Just
make sure you bring the knife straight back, and do
not alter the angle partway through cutting. It helps
to make 2 passes when cutting.
